‘The Office’ cast reunites to help John Krasinski organize surprise Zoom wedding

John Krasinski gained recognition for playing Jim Halpert in the American series The Office.

When it first aired in 2005, few could have predicted the show’s potential before ending as a full-blown phenomenon.

Jim was a fan favorite throughout nine seasons of the hit show, much to the delight of fans by marrying Pam (played by Jenna Fischer) in season six.

By the end of 2013, John had been recognized by viewers for his infamous role, where he also served as producer and director.

It’s no surprise, given his critically acclaimed roles on the big screen and as a director, producer, and screenwriter.

Over the course of the years, he has starred in a variety of successful films, including voicing animated films, such as Monsters University and the DC League of Super-Pets.

A few years before launching the American sitcom, in 2010 he married award-winning British actress Emily Blunt.

He even starred with his wife in the commercially successful 2018 horror-thriller A Quiet Place, which he co-wrote and directed.

He directs, co-produces, and writes the sequel, A Quiet Place Part II, in 2020, which earned him the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Thriller.

The famous couple has two children together – Hazel, 8 years old and Violet, 5 years old.

Although they both play active roles in the glamor and glitz of fame, Emily has described their meeting as “sad and lame”.

The couple met at a restaurant, where they were both having a private meal with mutual friends.

“It’s a sad and lame story,” she said on Late Night With Seth Myers. “My friend said, ‘Oh my God, there’s my friend John’ and that’s it.

“He was actually sitting with our friend Justin Theroux – and then he dumped Justin and came to talk to us.

“He didn’t eat. He just stood there and made me laugh and that was it,” she joked.

When asked by the presenter if she felt any connection in the first place, Emily replied: “I did.”

However, the celebrity family members don’t just stop at Emily as the couple’s brother-in-law is a very familiar face.

Emily and Stanley Tucci met on the set of The Devil Wears Prada and, after getting along on set, Emily invited her Hollywood co-star to her wedding to John in Lake Como, Italy.

At the lavish event, Stanley was introduced to Emily’s sister Felicity Blunt, to whom Stanley had hit his heels and has been married since 2012.

Last year, families even spent a healthy Thanksgiving together, Stanley captured a Polaroid-style image of himself and John that he posted to Instagram.

John and his wife are no strangers to life in the limelight, celebrity friends and inevitably have to face witnessing their partner’s intimate moments on screen.

More recently, John wowed viewers with his surprise appearance in Doctor Strange in Madness’s Multiverse.

It wasn’t his first call with Marvel, though, as he auditioned to play the superhero Captain America.

Chris Evans, who hung up his suit in Avengers: Endgame in 2019 will play the most active role.

Speaking to TV presenter Graham Norton, John revealed his experience with the audition, which was quickly dropped by Australian actor Chris Hemsworth.

“Yes, I’m probably the 16th pick for Captain America,” John told the presenter.

Although joking that there were a few choices ahead, he revealed that he was “quite close” to the role as he even tried on the suit.

“I put on the suit – it was a pretty big day for me, I was totally stressed out.”

“For a split second there, I felt really good about myself,” he joked. “I actually put the suit on and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, this is amazing!’

“And then across the hallway, Chris Hemsworth dressed as Thor and he said, ‘Are you okay?’

“And I said, ‘No, I’m not,’ while he quickly ran out of the suit.”
