Where the same X Factor difference is now – the brother and sister duo are still close

X Factor’s Same Difference were a fun-loving pop duo who stormed to success on the ITV talent show. Here’s a look at what they’ve been up to since they broke up seven years after they were catapulted into the show’s spotlight

X Factor pop duo Same Difference burst onto our screens in 2007 when siblings Sean and Sarah Smith teamed up for the ITV talent show.
And after clearly impressing the tween crowd, they exited the show in a respectable third place and propelled it into the pop bubble with a string of music releases.
But after bursting into the limelight as a duo and performing to fans across the country, they spent seven years together before pursuing solo projects.
So what happened to the fun-loving (sometimes disgustingly happy) siblings from Same Difference? Let’s find out…
One half of the pop duo, Sean Smith has kept himself in the spotlight but has taken to the stage to secure roles in pantomimes alongside solo music goals.
He also landed a touring role with That’s Entertainment, performing alongside artists such as Jane McDonald & The Overtones.
But his passion for music brought him back in 2016 with a debut solo single Turn Me On.
His other releases include Magic, which reached number 29 on the UK iTunes Dance Singles Chart, and a cover of Verona, which charted in 12 countries.
what is sean doing now
Sean is back with a new label and shared his news with fans on Twitter.
In one video, he appears in a luxe Mexican setting and asks followers, “Are you guys ready for new music from me in 2022?
But the latest release is a world away from his pop past, as his new album features swing-style covers of classic ’90s songs.
And it’s not just his music that has changed, followers noted his vastly altered physical appearance as he shared shirtless shorts of his toned frame while working on the seafront.
His new album Swing For The 90s will be released on April 16th.
What is his sister Sarah up to?
Sarah chose to inspire others with her infectious, bubbly personality and started her own performing arts dance school in her hometown of Portsmouth.
She also got married, now goes by the name Sarah Wilson, and has become a mother. She has also established herself as the director and owner of her now thriving dance academy, SD Dance.
On her website, she wrote: “I love teaching the kids that come through the doors of SD Studios. I started a dance school because I love nurturing talent and watching them grow into wonderful performers. I feel like SD Studios is more of a family than a company and I love working with families to unlock their children’s potential.
Though she has teamed up with her brother for a one-off charity single, with all proceeds going to the COVID-19 Urgent Appeal.
The single “One Life, One Love” was released August 3 through SP Music and featured the students at SD Studios.
And the duo haven’t lost their fun-loving side as they put the students in a spin as they reenacted the hilarious “routine” from the TV show Friends, performed, of course, by onscreen siblings Monica and Ross.
