How much do the AirPods Pro 2 cost?
We all breathed a sigh of relief when Apple officials confirmed the price of the second-gen AirPods Pro 2 at the Far Out event.
Priced at £249 in the UK and $249 in the US, they’re the same price as the first-gen AirPods Pro when they first launched in 2019.
That’s in stark contrast to the iPhone 14, which has seen a painful price hike here in the UK, costing £50 than its predecessor, the iPhone 13, when it was released.
AirPods Pro 2 vs AirPods Pro
The question many people are asking is whether the new AirPods Pro 2 are worth the expense.
This is especially true for anyone who owns the original AirPods Pro, which remain an absolutely superb piece of audio engineering even if they’re no longer top-notch.
Here’s a quick rundown of the upgrades you can expect from the second-gen earbuds:
- Apple claims that the new AirPods Pro’s noise-cancelling technology is twice as good as the earphones of the first generation
- The new internal H2 chip is said to offer an improved and higher quality sound profile
- Personalized spatial audio gives you an even better, tailored experience
- The AirPods Pro 2 come with an extra size of earbuds: XS. (Perfect for those with smaller lugs.)
- The battery life of the new AirPods Pro has been significantly increased – you now get six hours of performance on a single charge (up from four on the previous generation) and 30 hours with the charging case (up from 24 hours on the first generation)
Despite rumors to the contrary, the new AirPods Pro will still feature the iconic stems of the originals and there aren’t any major changes in terms of design.
