The Magpies are hoping for a surprise result against the Reds on Saturday and Eddie Howe is bolstered by the fact that he has no new injury worries after last weekend’s win against Norwich, but is expected to remain without five players.

Kieran Trippier (ankle) and Callum Wilson (calf) are both close to returning from long-term injuries but are still not expected back until next month, while the same is true for Ryan Fraser (hamstring), but Isaac Hayden (knee) and Jamal Lewis (Bar) remain excluded.

Liverpool continue to work with a fit and healthy squad but Jurgen Klopp is expected to make changes from the midweek win against Villarreal, while he also didn’t pick up any new injury worries in Wednesday’s clash.

Nonetheless, he has three injury concerns ahead of this game. Roberto Firmino (foot) is expected to be out for a while while Curtis Jones (ill) is yet to return to training but Kostas Tsimikas (ill) is expected to return to the matchday squad on Saturday.
