The Eurovision Song Contest has its traditions, one of which is that each year, a repertoire will steal headlines based solely on its wild style.
Encountering the obvious weirdness of this year, Norway’s Subwoolfer – a Daft Punk-esque duo dressed as space age dogs.
Underneath the masks are two mysterious individuals known only as Keith and Jim, who are currently preparing to take on the rest of Europe at the 2022 competition.
The duo got off to a great start, winning their first semi-final at this year’s Turin competition in Italy.
Here’s everything we know about this very unusual band representing Norway at Eurovision 2022.
Who represents Norway at Eurovision 2022?
Norway will be represented by Subwoolfer, also known as Keith and Jim – besides, who these people are is something no one can guess.
They have described themselves as “the biggest band in the galaxy”, and only time will tell if they really live up to it.
Not much is known about how the mysterious duo came together, but fans have had a lot of fun trying to figure out who’s behind the masks.
On May 10, it was claimed that the duo’s DJ – known as DJ Astronaut – who appeared on stage with them in the semi-final is in fact the Norwegian attending TIX 2021, according to NRK site.
A lot of speculation has been that one of the members is A1 star Ben Adams, but these have yet to be confirmed.
Singer-songwriter Adams lives in Norway with his fiancée Sara Skjoldnes and their daughter Skylar.
Where do Subwoolfers come from?
Subwoolfer rose to fame after winning the Melodi Grand Prix 2022, but even then the duo’s identity remained a secret.
However, if you asked them the same question, they would probably say that they were “first formed 4.5 billion years ago on their home planet, the moon”.
Does the Subwoolfer have an Instagram?
What is the name of the Norwegian Subwoolfer song?
Subwoofer entry for Eurovision 2022 called Give that wolf a banana.
It’s a heavy electronic tune that won’t get lost in the beach clubs of the continent’s warmer resorts.
With the heavy beat and some very odd lyrics that make for an odd version of Three Little Pigs, it incorporates loud percussion to move between parts of the song.
Credits for the song go to Keith and Jim, produced by DJ Astronaut.
It was a huge hit in Norway, climbing straight to #4 in the national rankings.
