Who is Technoblade?

Little is known about the 23-year-old American player, whose real name is Alexander, his father said.

Technoblade or Techno was born on June 1, 1999 and lived in San Francisco, California.

How did Technoblade die?

In June 2021, Technoblade was experiencing pain in his right arm and had taken a few days off to recover.

He initially thought it was a stress-related injury from spending too much time playing games.

But instead of getting better, he noticed his shoulder was swelling and assumed he had broken a bone, so he went to the hospital.

On August 2, 2021, he received the devastating diagnosis that he had cancer.

During the visit, doctors ran several scans and told him the problems with his arms were caused by a tumor.

He was undergoing chemotherapy for the disease before his death on June 30, 2022.

Who announced the death of Technoblade?

In a YouTube video titled “So long nerds,” Technoblade’s dad shared a message from his son announcing the streamer’s death.

Sitting with Floof, his son’s beloved dog, his father began: “Hi, I’m the father of Technoblade. He wrote a message and asked me to read it to you all.”

The message started. “Hello everyone, Technoblade here.

“If you’re looking at this. I’m dead.”

In the video, Technoblade revealed that his real name was Alexander as he kept his identity a secret from his fans.

And he shared how he pranked his fans by getting a sibling to call him Dave in a video.

He also thanked his fans for purchasing his merchandise, joking, “My siblings go to college,” adding, “I don’t want to put peer pressure on them from dead brothers.”

Technoblade captioned it, “This is all mine. Thank you all for supporting my content over the years.

“If I had 100 lives left I would choose Technoblade again and again because those were the happiest years of my life

“I hope you enjoyed my content and that I made some of you laugh and I hope you all continue to live long prosperous and happy lives because I love you.”

He said goodbye with the words: “Technoblade out.”

His father’s tearful message explained that Technoblade was only alive eight hours after he wrote his last message to his fans.

He said: “We all said goodbye. He was the most amazing child anyone could ever ask for. I miss Technoblade. Thank you all for everything. You meant a lot to him.”

Esports player Jake Lucky released a statement on Twitter following news of Techno’s death.

It read: “We, the Technoblade family, wanted you all to know how much he adores and respects his fans and colleagues.

“Since Technoblade’s earliest online days, he’s always strategized to please and reward his audiences – by giving away online prizes, encouraging good sportsmanship, and most importantly, sharing his Minecraft adventures for entertainment and laughs.

“Even after his later successes, he’s somehow managed to maintain his good-natured humbleness and compete with an endearing balance of confidence and self-deprecating wit.”

The statement explained that despite having over 10 million subscribers, Techo worked to keep its identity a secret.

It concluded: “We ask that you continue to comply with his requests to protect his privacy and the privacy of his family.”

“The past year has had many tough times for our son as he battles stage four cancer. But he wasn’t complaining and continued to use his famed strategic mind to try to beat what he knew was almost impossible.

“My son’s courage on this path was a shining lesson for all of us who were allowed to walk it with him.

“Thank you for sharing his journey through it all as he did the work he loved for his beloved fans.”
