Who Will Record the Most Rushing Touchdowns in the NFL This Season?

The NFL season is nearly upon us and there is already lots of talk about what teams will do this and what players will deliver that.

Here we continue that trend with a look at who will record the most rushing touchdowns in the season ahead?

Number 5. Nick Chubb

Kicking off our picks for players that could complete the most rushing touchdowns is Nick Chubb. He’s certainly unlikely to be a popular choice but, in our minds, he does offer a lot of upsides. For one thing, Chubb is one of the hardest runners in the league right now and reached the endzone quite a bit last season working alongside Kareem Hunt.

That last point could be seen as a hinderance to him in this ‘race’ as Hunt is obviously going to steal some of the scoring opportunities from him but Cleveland rely so heavily upon their rushing attack that Chubb could explode in 2021/22.

Number 4. Christian McCaffrey

Christian McCaffrey would be much higher up on this list if there were not concerns regarding his injury history. All last season he suffered various injuries and only played in a few games throughout the year. The noises are that he’ll be ready to go for week one; the trouble is you just never know how all these niggles will impact him.

The other factors to consider is that McCaffrey is also going to have to get used to a new quarterback in former Jets man Sam Darnold; that will take a little time. That said, McCaffrey is without a doubt going to have one of the highest rushing touchdown totals of the year. The question marks we’ve touched on are why he’s not ranked higher than fourth.

Number 3. Alvin Kamara

Next up is Alvin Kamara and here is why. The New Orleans Saints offense is going to need a new captain now that Drew Brees has officially retired. For us, Kamara fills that role beautifully regardless of the fact he isn’t a quarterback.

Kamara is without a doubt the teams most explosive offensive player. He displayed these qualities last season as he racked up a record equalling six rushing touchdowns in a single game, which happened to be on Christmas Day. With his ability to get into the end zone so frequently combined with his poise and balance then there won’t be many people out performing Kamara in terms of rushing touchdowns.

Number 2. Dalvin Cook

Dalvin Cook has a chance to be record the most rushing touchdowns in the NFL this season but just has too many health concerns. He has yet to play in a full NFL season, which is a real shame because when he is on the grass he is explosive to say the least. Cook is one of those backs that contributes heavily to both the pass and run game.

He has always shown elite pace and smart movement when he gets the ball in his hands which should translate to touchdowns this season – assuming he can remain healthy. The Minnesota Vikings have another offensive unit that is going to put up a lot of points due to a bad defense; that opens the door for Cook to have a massive scoring year.

Number 1. Derrick Henry

Derrick Henry is simply the most unstoppable player in the NFL right now. We got to see that on full display last season when he rushed for over 2,000 yards for the Tennessee Titans. Henry is a rare mix of speed, strength and agility and has even been implemented into the Titans passing game more often.

This Titans squad is bound to air it out a bit more and put up more points per game than previous years. That opens the door for Henry to swoop a few extra goal line opportunities. With all that considered, Henry is without doubt our pick to be the leader in rushing touchdowns and rushing yards this season.

There you have it, five names that could lead the NFL in rushing touchdowns this year. Find out who is the NFL leader in rushing touchdowns for all-time here before the new season starts.
