iDubbbz vs. Doctor Mike headlined the last YouTube fight night in Florida
iDubbz was challenged by Doctor Mike at the first Creator Clash boxing event last night.
Doctor Mike tried to impose his size from the first bell and looked like the more polished fighter, while iDubbbz was content to brawl. Doctor Mike landed cleanly with consecutive right hands to put iDubbbz in trouble, but was helped when the round ended a minute early.
Doctor Mike’s years of experience seemed to pay off in the second round as he almost stopped iDubbbz with a barrage of shots towards the end of the session. iDubbbz knocked Doctor Mike’s head back with his right hand in the third round as he threatened a comeback, but he still absorbed the bigger shots.
iDubbbz had the full support of the 10,000 crowd as he threw, but he didn’t land enough to disrupt the judges’ scorecards. Doctor Mike kept landing his right hand as he neared victory. The pattern continued in the fifth and final round as the rivals continued to trade blows after the bell before Doctor Mike was awarded the win 50-45, 50-45, 49-46.
Here are all the results from the rest of the Creator Clash map…
Harley Morenstein vs Arin Hanson
Morenstein enjoyed a huge 62-pound weight advantage ahead of this heavyweight bout, but was on the receiving side by the end of the first round. Morenstein started the second round on top and when he caught Hanson, the smaller man puckered, forcing the referee to step in and end the fight. Morenstein was very amiable in the win, congratulating Hanson to his heart while insisting he only won because he had extra practice time.
Graham Stephan versus Michael Reeves
Stephan started the early offense but fan favorite Reeves handled it well and neither player looked particularly aggressive in the opening round. Stephan landed the cleaner shots in the second round until Reeves landed a right hand that left his rival stunned. Reeves tried to unload in the corner before the referee stepped in to end the fight.
Hundar from Muscle Party vs AB from H3 Podcast
AB had trained at Los Angeles’ famed Wild Card Gym, formerly the home of ring legend Manny Pacquiao, and held his own against the more athletic Hundar. But the bigger man dropped his opponent in the third round, but AB reacted immediately by dropping Hundar with a right counterattack seconds later. Both men looked tiring in the fourth round as they all had to play to get into the final two minutes, but it was Hundar who prevailed as AB withered and the referee stepped in after one too many body shots.
JustaMinx vs Yodeling Haley
The first female influencer fight turned into a brawl as JustaMinx of Ireland recorded the win via a fourth-round stoppage. The fight appeared to be over much sooner but Yodeling Haley reacted well after being overwhelmed in the first two sessions. The American tried to take advantage of her rival’s fatigue, but the referee eventually intervened after a few unanswered shots.
I did something about Theodd1sout
I did one thing – real name Alex Apollonov – flew over from Australia to attend the show and rocked to the ring in khaki shorts. He was up from the first bell when Theodd1sout looked like he’d rather be somewhere else. Apollonov repeatedly asked the referee to stop the fight before the official did just that, with 40 seconds left in the opening round.
Internet commentary etiquette featuring Erik vs. DJ Welch
Both men wore headgear, suggesting they weren’t too keen on taking punches, and Erik slacked off in the opening round as he struggled with the pace. He was knocked down twice in the second round before the intersession fight was waved off. “I was worried that he would come back because I was gassed,” DJ Welch said. Erik admitted that he knew very quickly that it wasn’t his night. “I wish I could have gone through the whole fight, but my opponent was a champion,” he said. “I’ve been training since February and I knew in the first round that I was going to lose.”
Ryan Magee vs. Alex Ernst
Alex Ernst looked more technical from the first bell, twice dropping Ryan Magee en route to a decision win. But Magee showed tremendous heart not to throw in the towel despite being bloodied throughout. The rivals embraced repeatedly after the final bell as they settled their five-round feud.
Father vs Matt Watson
The 41-year-old “Dad” wasted no time in poking fun at the age difference between himself and Matt Watson, stopping his younger opponent in just 20 seconds. “Dad prepared very hard, I’m a good dad, I did my homework and my homework was to wipe out every sparring partner I’ve had over the past few months,” he said. “I destroyed the Alpha in training and I could destroy a Matt Watson!”
