Why is my Instagram black?

INSTAGRAM is one of the most popular social media platforms in 2022 with over a billion monthly users.
However, users of the platform log into the app and find that their Instagram has suddenly gone black – here’s everything you need to know.
Why is my Instagram black?
It seems that the social media platform is at fault as bug reports are not limited to a specific mobile device or carrier.
This is likely caused by updates since May 2022 and frequent use of the app by a large number of users, which could be a contributing factor.
Because of this, some of the biggest social media sites like Facebook and Twitter have gone under in the past.
Instagram users can usually choose whether they want a black or white background, but the app has switched to dark mode for many who opted for a white background.
Of course, many users took to Twitter to express their confusion, with one user writing: “Anyone else on Instagram in this full screen? And dark mode? How do I remove this?”
Another user said: “Why is my newsfeed suddenly in dark mode? Please tell me how to get it back!”

So far there is no confirmed explanation as to why this is happening, but you can find out how to change your background settings below.
How to disable dark mode on Instagram
There is no way to change your Instagram’s color settings in the app on iPhone as it is determined by your phone settings.
When your IOS or Android device is in light mode, Instagram will show white and vice versa.
To change your settings on an iOS device, go to Settings > Display & Brightness and there will be a blue tick next to either Light or Dark.
Try changing your settings to the opposite setting and back as this can fix your Instagram background.
Unfortunately, if you’ve tried this and your phone is set to light mode but your Instagram still appears black, it can get stuck like that.
However, you can contact Instagram for further help and support Twitter.
