Why is playing monsters in savage so super awkward

To portray the Mother, nearly every inch of Matthew Patrick Davis’s body is covered with prosthetics. The character remains naked and exposed whenever she’s on screen, meaning there’s no room for Davis’ real body to hide. Talk to DiversityHe recounted that in order to wear all of these pieces, he needed to remove all of his body hair so that they would stick:

“I did my whole body Veet, it was a fun experience I’ve never had before, but I asked if I could shave my eyebrows because he would cover them with prosthetics.”

While most of his body is covered with prosthetics, there are parts that are still completely his. This is especially true of the face, as he says, “her nose is my nose, and her mouth is my mouth.” An actor’s face needs to show a variety of emotions, and the way Davis holds his mouth and jaw when The Mother speaks volumes about her pain. Another real body part is his backside. Davis’ backside was originally supposed to get coverage, but it was never true:

“They experimented with putting a cast on my butt during a makeup check… I have a weird plastic butt but it looks terrible, like ‘We’re going to use it with this’ a pair of panties.”

They covered the actor’s crotch, even though it didn’t look good, and would say, “Matthew, if when you jump off the cliff, you can use your arm to cover your crotch, that’s great. .” At least Davis was able to have some modesty there.
