Amanda Ross, executive producer of Saturday Kitchen, told RadioTimes.com: “Angela is a very popular chef who has hosted the show many times before and always does a great job, so we know we’re in a safe place.
“She will take everything in her stride despite this short notice.
“Matt is obviously very disappointed that we have such an amazing guest, Rob Brydon, who we were all really looking forward to on the show.
“The rest of the team, chefs Anna Haugh and Ravneet Gill and our wonderful Wine Expert Olly Smith will help Angela fill Matt’s shoes with excellence, but it’s clearly never the same. so without Matt.”

For now, it’s unclear whether Matt will return for the show next weekend.
The show’s executive producer Amanda said: “Clearly Matt’s emergency surgery took everyone by surprise, including him.
“He is still hospitalized and it is unclear when he will be well enough to leave.”
She added that the team will try and check with Matt on Zoom if he’s well enough.
