YOUR bad driving habits can not only choke off other drivers, they could even piss off a potential LOVER, a new study has found.

Tailgating has been motorists’ biggest turn, with a massive 45.8 per cent of Britons looking for the next exit when a date pulls too close to the car in front.

While it wasn’t possible to finish just short of pole position – with almost a quarter turning off love when a date doesn’t signal properly.

Slow driving came in third place — with 15.4 percent admitting they would rather exceed the speed limit on their date than drive slowly.

Still, 14 percent preferred a Sunday driver to a young racer to take them into the sunset.

The study also found that the motor you drive can keep you single.

So unlucky if you drive a van – with 46 per cent of Brits saying the practical motor makes the worst impression on a date.

They came in as the least desirable behind people carriers, sports cars and two-seaters.

But it turns out you’re good with the top down – because convertibles make the best first impression for wannabe lovers.

As for the car itself — you need to pick up the pieces from your date if your car is a tip, as 44.8 percent find it the biggest turn.

By comparison, just 6 per cent of Brits pollute the water if your outside is dirty – so get out the vacuum and start cleaning.

And it’s spoilers that will do just that by a certain point – almost a quarter (21.9 percent) admit car modifications won’t make them hot under the hood.

And while it’s good for the environment, driving an electric or hybrid could make you two-thirds less attractive than petrol.

As for the car brand – Audi drivers end up on top, they get a third of the data, all revved up.

Audi narrowly beat German rival Mercedes-Benz with 29.6 percent, while Tesla secured just 20 percent of a date stake.

The survey of 1,000 Brits was commissioned by National Tires and Autocare.
