A widow who looks stunning at 60 has revealed young men think she’s “lying” when she tells them her age after opening up about dating again.
Eudora Okoro, 60, out wirralMerseyside, said she was turned away by beauty companies looking for anti-aging product testers because she “looked too good”.
Her friends have told her that her youthful looks make them “feel sick,” and she claims many ask “what’s her secret” or claim she “lies” when she tells them her real age.
But the dance teacher and DJ Eudora, who recently opened up about dating following the death of her husband Paul, 52, says she hasn’t always felt confident about her looks.
said Eudora The echo : “When I was a teenager I really hated being skinny, I really, really hated it to the point where I stuffed my face and ate all sorts of things to be a little bit taller .
“I remember my dad making a comment that stuck with me, he said, ‘Don’t worry, your mom was skinny too, until she hit her 30s, then she got kicked out.’
“I’m one of those people where it’s like a challenge if someone says something to me, so I said it won’t be me. After that, I started taking care of my body by drinking plenty of water, eating well, and exercising.”
As Eudora got older, she said her looks kept getting better, but it wasn’t until she was 30 that she realized how people were looking at her.
Buying alcohol, going to the doctor, or doing anything that required her date of birth always resulted in people mentioning what Eudora looked like.
She said: “There’s always a question when I give someone my date of birth, it’s usually at the pharmacy or at the doctor’s when people say ‘wow you look really young’ or ‘what’s your secret’. It can be really embarrassing but it’s really flattering after all.
“Once I must have been in my late 30s, early 40s and I was at a party with a guy I was dating. I sat and chatted with this elderly lady and said I’ll just go for a glass of wine.
“She looked up and said to me, ‘Oh dear, are you old enough?’ And when I told her my age, she almost dropped her drink, she couldn’t believe it.”
Following the death of her husband in 2019, Eudora recently decided to try a relationship again.
But she says her figure and looks made the process very difficult, as younger men often approached her and didn’t believe her real age.
She said: “I’ve had a lot of younger men contact me, some were 19 or even 20. A lot of them think I’m lying if I tell them my age.
“I’ve gotten to the point where I’ve reduced my age by 10 years – but people still don’t believe me when I reveal my real age.
“I started asking the younger men why they were texting me, just out of curiosity, and a lot of them say it’s nice to see ‘natural beauty.'”
Every morning, Eudora drinks a fresh juice made with fruits and vegetables and sticks to a plant-based diet.
She also drinks two liters of water a day and does sports every day.
She said: “Unless you have any disease, I think how we age is entirely in our hands.
“Being fit and healthy helps you cope with anything – it affects you both mentally and physically.”
