Will Mellor said his “knee is terrible” and is being held in place with “tape” ahead of Saturday’s serious dance.
The Coronation Street star also said he used his wife’s foot and ice treatments to make sure he was fit for his performance in front of the judges.
Mellor, who was featured on The One Show by his dance partner, Nancy Xu, on Friday, was asked about his rehearsals for the fast step.
The 46-year-old actor said: “It was a tough, hard week. It’s another dance you have to learn, another skill you have to learn.
“Saturday will come no matter what you do so you have to get work done.
“(My) knees are bad but feet are purple. I don’t think that’s normal.
“(My) knees are like a Blue Peter project, I have a lot of duct tape and all that stuff on them just holds (my body) together.
He added: “This program is not for the elderly so my body doesn’t know what’s going on.”
Mellor said he signed up to act in serious drama, because it was his mother’s favorite show and after his father’s death he wanted to make new memories.
Mellor said losing his father also inspired him to “do more” and “live life”.

He added: “I just think, you (must) take the life, you (must) say yes to more things, you (must) step out of your comfort zone and try to make things worse.” This terrible pole thing turns out to be positive.
“And if I could put a smile on[my mother’s]face after what she’s been through. That’s enough for me.”
Actor Luke Evans, known for The Hobbit and Dracula Untold, also said on The One Show that he will perform on the show’s results.
Seriously come dancing continues on BBC One.
