easyJet and British Airways have announced the cancellation of more than 300 combined flightscausing Easter chaos for British holidaymakers.
Some 222 flights have been canceled so far from easyJet alone since Saturday, including 62 on Monday 4 April.
Most of Monday’s cancellations happened on Saturday, while British Airways has announced the cancellation of 115 flights to or from Heathrow Airport.
It’s a particularly busy week for travel with most schools taking Easter off this week, but there are fears the situation could worsen during the Good Friday bank holiday on April 15
Huge queues were seen over the weekend and this has continued into Monday.
At Manchester Airport and Heathrow, people had to queue for four hours, while others faced long waits at the Port of Dover and a three-hour delay in the Eurotunnel due to a stuck train.

Persistently high Covid cases mean flight crews remain understaffed, forcing airlines to cut some of their flights.
The UK government is no longer fully following the situation, but as recently as April 1, 69,811 cases were reported.
The situation has caused chaos at Manchester Airport in recent days. The Manchester Evening News reported angry passengers who abandoned their luggage, people trying to jump barriers and baggage handlers who said they were “more stressed than ever” by the situation.
easyJet said: “As a result of the current high rates of Covid infection across Europe, easyJet, like all companies, is experiencing a higher than average sick leave rate among employees.
“We have made 62 precautionary cancellations on flights to and from the UK [Monday] which is a small part [Monday’s] Total flight program, which should include more than 1,645 flights. We canceled most of them [on Saturday].”
British Airways has made the decision to reduce the number of flights to around 20 daily by May this year.
