William ‘very protective of Kate because of what happened with Charles and Diana’

The Duke of Cambridge is very close to his wife Kate and is “very protective” of her over the issues his parents Charles and Diana have been struggling with, a source has reportedly said

Prince William is still very “protective” of Kate and wants to avoid the issues that affected Charles and Diana, a pal said.

The Duke of Cambridge appears to be a strong family man who has always put his wife and children first, while gradually taking on more responsibilities as the Queen grows increasingly frail.

He now seems comfortable in his role as second in line to the throne, and even his relationship with Charles is much stronger than it was when they were kids.

Friends have reportedly shared how having a family has given his life more “perspective” and that he is very close to Kate, whom he considers “as important to the institution as he is”.

It was also noted that William took special care of Kate as he wanted to avoid the problems his parents were having with Charles and Diana’s divorce.

“They are so tight, just inseparable. When you talk to William he’s actually quite puritanical in his attitude when he talks about his parents’ marriage and what went wrong,” a friend told the Daily Mail.

“It has had a huge impact on the way he has approached his own relationship with Catherine and why it has taken him so long to settle down. He wanted it to be with the right person and (for it to last) forever. William is still very protective of him mrs. The way he sees it, she is as important to the institution as he is. He genuinely admires how she just dug in and stuck with it.

But his complicated relationship with his brother has had a particular impact on William’s caring for his wife.

Since moving to the United States, the Sussexes have spoken publicly to the media about their issues with royalty, with regular attacks on the institution.

In a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, Harry said he needed to break the cycle and raise his kids in a different environment, while Meghan Markle claimed she was racially abused.

William also feels Kate was “massively disrespected” by Meghan when she told Oprah she made her cry.

While Meghan said Kate bought her flowers afterwards as an apology, a royal source told the Daily Mail it was a “peace offering”.

They continued, “Despite many provocations, both William and Catherine have tried to keep the peace more than anyone will ever realize.”

Another source added: “Make no mistake, he’s angry. He believes Harry disrespected the Queen and her family.”
