Prince William feels Harry has been “sucked into a strange world” since leaving the royal family and has “crossed a line” by publicly attacking his family, a pal has said.

The strained relationship between the brothers is illustrated by the little contact during the Sussexes’ visit to the UK for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee earlier this month.

Harry and Meghan left the UK more than two years ago and have now started a new life in California, where they have been critical of the royals in interviews with US media.

The Duke of Sussex, in a sizzling interview with Oprah Winfrey, claimed he needed to break the cycle and raise his children in a different environment.

While Meghan Markle also claimed to the American chat show host that she was the subject of a racist comment.

William is said to be furious with his wife, who he says was “massively disrespected” by Meghan in the same interview when she claimed Kate made her cry in the run-up to their wedding.

Meghan had told Oprah that Kate later bought her flowers to apologize.

But a royal insider said so Daily Mail : “It obviously never occurred to (Meghan) that they were a peace offering, not an apology. Despite many provocations, both William and Catherine have tried to keep the peace more than anyone will ever realize.”

When a friend was asked if the brothers will ever be able to mend their rift, they said it was a tough question as William felt Harry had “crossed a line”.

The source said: “William is also very principled and believes Harry has crossed a line. He has pressed charges after charges, knowing that silence is the family’s only option because they don’t want to be dragged into a public slanging match. He looks like his father was upset about it and it hurt.

“William is absolutely allergic to drama, but Harry made sure the family laundry was broadcast around the world. I think they will be in a better position going forward, but not now. And too much water has gone under the bridge for things to ever be the way they were again.

“Honestly, William thinks Harry has been sucked into a strange world and he can do damn well anything about it. But he wants Harry to be happy, and if he stops throwing dust in their faces, maybe he’ll find a way to forgive and forget.”

Another source told the Daily Mail that they believe it’s a possibility they can make amends as William is “very protective” of his brother and thinks he will “keep the door open for him forever”.
