Winchelsea man charged with burglary found with knife and cannabis

Police have charged a man with burglary following a break-in at a property in Winchelsea.

Officials were called to Pett Level Road last month after a member of the public reported seeing suspicious activity at a property.

There were signs of a break-in and several missing items.

Forensic examination of the scene identified one suspect as Noah Heyworth-Cooper, 27, of unknown address.

Heyworth-Cooper, 27, was in a vehicle in Bexhill on Thursday November 10 where he was stopped on suspicion of burglary and arrested.

A search of the vehicle found a knife, so he was further arrested for possession of an assault weapon and possession of a Class B drug, cannabis.

Heyworth-Cooper was charged with all three offenses and remanded in custody.

He appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Saturday November 12, where he was released on bail pending a hearing at Lewes Crown Court on December 12. Winchelsea man charged with burglary found with knife and cannabis
