With the new hack, friends can keep their “deleted messages” forever

WhatsApp is working on a new method that will allow people to make chats disappear over and over again.

Disappearing messages expire after 24 hours, 7 days, or 90 days depending on how long you choose.

The feature was designed to make things a little more private – and to stop people from engaging with things you’ve said in the past.

They can be set by anyone for individual chats or groups.

WhatsApp has been exploring new ways to augment disappearing messages, and now it looks like a way to keep them longer is on the horizon.

That goes for groups anyway — so you might need to be more careful about what you say in the future.

According to a leaked screenshot from WABetaInfo, the new option allows users to keep important messages so they never go away.

An option in the group settings shows a button labeled “Kept Messages”.

“In other words, you can prevent some disappearing messages from disappearing in a future version of WhatsApp,” the site reads.

“Since anyone in chat can decide to delete these messages, WhatsApp now plans to make it easier to find them, so they’re developing this section.”

It’s also reported that the popular chat app is working on even more ways to augment disappearing messages.

The new feature was spotted on the desktop version of WhatsApp, although experts believe it will roll out across all platforms, including iPhone and Android.

But this is still in the beta testing phase at the moment.

That means WhatsApp might decide not to go ahead and make it available to everyone in a public version, so we’ll have to wait and see for now.
