With this ingenious tactic, the Elden Ring player overwhelms NPC invaders

Do you have problems with NPC invaders in elden ring? Are you struggling with how to defeat them? Can you easily take down bosses, dogs, and all sorts of weird stuff (read: giant crabs) but can’t handle a red guy in Roundtable Hold? Don’t worry, you’re not the only one.

It seems that many players are having problems with NPC invaders. Even more so than some of the massive, towering bosses you would have fought up to this point in the game. In our own best armor in the Elden Ring guide, we note that you can use whatever means you choose to ship them by. “Spamming jump attacks after jumping off the table works – just remember to roll towards them when they launch magic attacks to dodge them and keep the pressure up,” advised our very own James.

But if you’re still having trouble, don’t fret — a Reddit user, aptly named Elden_Ring_Guides, has come up with a foolproof cheese that will make short work of that idiot (and others like him).

The cheese essentially consists of you sprinting to the NPC invader’s spawn point, then spamming your flail non-stop to trap the invader and basically lock them in a small damage prison to the death. It’s all very Elden Ring, ey?

This is easier with the invader Roundtable Hold since you know exactly where it will spawn, but it might prove difficult for the other NPCs that invade you in the open world. They can always lose the first encounter and come back later with the flail to stun them into their spawn.

If you need a flail yourself, you can find one at the Gatefront Ruins; Find the carriages near the area (which you get to if you follow the main path the game pushes you on) and examine the nearby houses. In a chest in there you’ll find a flail – it’s not amazing, but it will work for this exploit. Just make sure you have the appropriate strength and skill to use it properly.
