Wizarding World’s wand light installation goes on UK tour

To celebrate the upcoming release of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, local superfans from the New Vic Theater Drama Club in Stoke-on-Trent were on hand to officially open the Wand Exhibition to the public

Fans of all ages were able to witness the beautiful light show and music that marked the start of the highly anticipated tour, and enjoyed on-site prizes for select fans in costume.1 from 5 -
Standing 15 feet tall and set in concrete bases, the nine wands – which represent some of the favorite characters from the films Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts – will be illuminated every evening from 6:30pm to 10:30pm until March 27th. In addition to the spectacle, the wands will put on light shows every half hour during this time, set to exciting music from Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts.2 from 5 -
The opening ceremonies began with a dynamic wand training class led by wand choreographer Paul Harris. The celebrations continued when local fan Jessica Ryder, aged five, was given the opportunity to turn on the lights alongside Lord Mayor Cllr Chandra Kanneganti.3 from 5 -

The four chosen cities – Hull, Birmingham, Stoke-on-Trent and Reading – were voted for by the public and will each host the exciting installation for seven days. Hull, which received the most public votes, started the tour, followed by Birmingham.4 from 5 -
Councilor Lorraine Beardmore, Cabinet Member for Public Health, Culture and Leisure said: “We are delighted to have this exciting installation here in Stoke-on-Trent and I would like to say a big thank you to the townspeople for voting for us one of the locations, and a big thank you to Warner Bros and our partners for helping make this possible. Stoke-on-Trent will house the wands until March 27th before traveling to Reading where the wands will be on display at the Oracle Shopping Center from March 30th to April 5th.
