Wolves have signed Valencia striker Goncalo Guedes on a five-year deal.
Just minutes after it was confirmed that captain Conor Coady had joined Everton on loan, the club announced the arrival of the 25-year-old former Benfica academy graduate.
“We have been following Goncalo for a long time and are delighted to welcome him to Wolves,” said Chairman Jeff Shi.
“He’s a natural talent and has performed very well across Europe and for his country and we think he’s well suited to the Premier League.
“We always strive to improve the squad with high quality and have been patient to ensure we have the right player.
“Goncalo has worked with Bruno at Benfica and previously played with many members of our squad so we are confident he will settle into the group quickly here.
“Very few transfers are ever straight forward and this was no exception as a number of clubs tried to secure the player until the very last minute.
“Now we’re delighted that Goncalo is a Wolves player and look forward to welcoming him to Molineux this Saturday.”
Guedes, a Portugal international, scored 13 goals in his best LaLiga campaign last season and left Valencia with 36 goals in 176 games.
