Woman, 40, found dead in Monaghan flat on probe into Gardai’s ’cause unknown’ death

GARDAI is investigating the unexplained death of a woman found at a property in the early hours of this morning.

Police discovered the woman, 40, in an apartment in the Lakeside Walk area of ​​Co Monaghan.

Gardai and an ambulance service rushed to the scene shortly after 2am.

The woman, 40, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the scene has been left untouched and local investigators have been notified.

The services of the State Pathologist and the Garda Department of Engineering were also called to the scene.

Gardai said the results of the autopsy will determine the course of their investigation.

A spokesman said: “Gardai is currently being treated as ’cause unknown’ for the death of a woman (age 40) who was discovered in an apartment on Lakeside Walk, Monaghan in the early hours of Wednesday 19.order January 2022.

“Gardai and the Ambulance Service were on the scene shortly after 2am.

“She is presumed dead at the scene which is now preserved.

“The local investigative agency has been notified and the services of the State Pathology Department and the Garda Technical Department have been requested.

“The results of the autopsy will determine the course of Garda’s investigation into the case.

“The request is in progress.”
