Woman arrested for murder of Ballyfermot father Michael Tormey released without charge

The woman, who was arrested as part of the investigation into the murder of Ballyfermot’s father of three, Michael Tormey, has been released without charge.
Ardaí said a file was being prepared for the head of the prosecutor’s office.
Gardaí investigating the murder of Michael Tormey in Dublin earlier this year had arrested the woman earlier this week.
She was the second woman known to Mr. Tormey to be arrested as part of the investigation.
The 49-year-old was shot dead outside his home on Thomond Road, Ballyfermot, in the early hours of January 9.
Mr Tormey had been at a social gathering earlier that evening but Gardaí ruled this out as a link to his killing.
On Monday morning, investigators arrested a woman in her early 30s as part of the investigation.
She was being held at Clondalkin Garda Station under Section 30 of the Crimes Against the State Act.
Independent.ie understands the woman is known to Mr Tormey and is the second woman to know the victim being arrested as part of the investigation.
A Garda spokesman said the investigation into the fatal shooting is ongoing.
In January, a woman, also in her 30s, was arrested in connection with the investigation and questioned for several days before being released without charge.
A man is currently on trial for the murder of Michael Tormey.
