A woman has died in a traffic accident involving a car in Cork.
The incident happened just before 11am today outside of Midleton.
That brings the number of people who have lost their lives on Irish roads so far this year to 105.
That is 20 more than in the same period in 2021.
Of the 105 fatalities, 46 were drivers, 20 motorcyclists, 18 pedestrians, 15 passengers, four cyclists and one each passenger and e-scooter driver/passenger.

Despite desperate attempts to help the woman, she was pronounced dead before she could be transferred to Cork University Hospital (CUH).
The deceased is said to be in her 80s and from the East Cork area.
Gardaí are investigating the exact cause of the tragedy.
Footage from local CCTV surveillance cameras is being reviewed and any driver who was in the area at the time and whose vehicle is equipped with dashcams is asked to contact Gardaí.
