A woman confronted a group of men who “insulted” her and threw chips, curry sauce and a chair at her, a court heard.
Millie Holiday had picked up a takeaway after a night on the town.
But she was furious when a group of men slapped the food out of her hand and went into a rage.
Her anger boiled over and she ended up in court for her behavior.
Her solicitor Tom Trobe told Cardiff Magistrates’ Court she bought chips and curry sauce from a shop.
“Some men loitering thought it would be amusing to slap food out of her hand and use awkward insults,” Mr Trobe said.
“She made the decision to pick it up off the ground and throw it at her. She also threw a chair.”
During Holliday’s first hearing in April, the attorney asked that the case be adjourned so that a Women’s Pathfinder course could be considered in lieu of a court decision.
The program aims to reduce the recidivism rate among women in Wales.
Mr Trobe added: “She works full-time and hasn’t had any problems for almost four years.”
“This is a relatively low-level offense that might consider a Pathfinder course.
“Unfortunately, this part of the process was missed because she was not questioned by the police.
“Hopefully this can be clarified by means of an extrajudicial injunction.”

The judges agreed to adjourn the case and place the defendant on unconditional bail, but authorities then decided that a court sentencing would be appropriate.
Holliday, from Splott, Cardiff, returned to court on Monday admitting drunk and disorderly behaviour.
She was ordered to pay a fine of £50, a victim’s fine of £34 and prosecution costs of £85.
