An AIRBNB owner is divided after complaining that her previous guests took away all the hidden supplies on the property.
Anna Pearce, who owns a number of Airbnb properties, asked people what to do on her TikTok account @propertyempress.
She asked her 54,000 followers, “We have a moral dilemma — we have an Airbnb guest who stayed and didn’t take very good care of the property.”
She continued: “You’ve found our welcome pack – we leave a small gift basket for guests’ arrival.
“They managed to find it and they took everything so we can’t give anything to the next guests.”
Sharing a picture of the basket, which contains bags of chips, biscuits, candy and milk, she said that in addition to toilet paper, they also get toiletries like shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and bath salts.
She added that in addition to putting everything in the welcome basket, guests found the closet and took 30 rolls of toilet paper, 10 bottles of toiletries and everything for the welcome food basket.
She also said they moved things like the fridge and mirror and smoked on the property, leaving tobacco everywhere.
Guests accidentally left an expensive bottle of champagne in the fridge, which she asked if she should leave for the next guests instead.
For their part, many people were horrified – someone wrote: “Frankly some people! The entitlement and the cheekiness.”
Another person said, “I would bill them for the stolen goods.”
One agreed: “There is always someone who thinks he can take everything like in a hotel.”
Others didn’t see the problem and said she should have locked the supplies away instead.
Some also said she should have made it clearer if they weren’t allowed to take more items with them.
Anna said she ended up buying more supplies and bought flowers for the next guest instead, but said she wouldn’t rent to them again if they got in touch again.
We have explained everything You can’t and won’t take it out of a hotel room.
