A shopper was killed when a concrete block fell from a building on her head while walking arm-in-arm with a pal in disturbing CCTV.
The 50-year-old victim died from massive head injuries, but her friend – just inches away – survived completely unharmed.
Shocking CCTV footage of the gruesome death shows the friends walking arm in arm down a street lined with shops in Jiujiang city, north China’s Jiangxi province.
As they stroll down the street, a block of concrete broke loose from the sixth floor of a building and its victim.
Police confirmed the woman died in the accident, which occurred at 11 a.m. and that the building from which the cement fell was constructed in 2002.
She was confirmed dead by emergency workers at 11.20am.

Police added that they are still investigating the incident and said the cement was part of the wall decoration.
It is checked whether the warranty still existed with the original builder or whether it has now been passed on to the property manager.
A similar freak accident in China in 2015 left a worker with a fractured skull after a flying log slammed into his head.
Video footage shows the man working hard to break down barriers on the side of the truck when the unbelievable accident happened.
After workers examined the CCTV, they found that a nearby dump truck had run over the log, its rear tire throwing it through the air directly into the unsuspecting worker’s path.
And last year, a Chinese TikTok star filmed herself falling 160 feet from a crane to her death.

Xiao Qiumei, 23, missed a step and fell after finishing a shift while operating a crane near her home in the city of Quzhou, west China’s Zhejiang Province, her family said.
The mother-of-two was reportedly filming herself chatting when the tragedy occurred, and footage from her phone apparently shows it falling to the ground.
Her family denies that she recorded herself during work hours, but witnesses claim she fell to her death, phone in hand Daily Star reports.
The mother of two had amassed a massive online following of 100,000 people who enjoyed a glimpse into her life at the controls of a giant crane.
