Woman rejects free flights worth £7.6k

Bagging thousands of pounds worth of flight credit would be a dream come true for most holiday lovers.
But one woman turned down £7,600 in free flights – and people think she’s crazy.
Tiktok user Jess Ries shared a video of her sitting on the tarmac in a completely packed JetBlue plane.
She explained that the airline had to do that repel passengers to make room for the cabin crew, so they offered free flight credits to entice people to give up their seats.
jess walking by @riesjessShe captioned the video: “Should be on the way cancun but we can’t leave until a person gives up their seat.
“They offer $10,000 (£7.6,000) and no one will take it.”

The video was viewed 10 million times and people thought she was crazy for skipping the free flights.
Someone wrote: “Girls take the next flight and take the money! Missing a few hours or even a day or two in Cancun is definitely worth the money.”
Another person said, “Dude, if I was on that flight and they offered to put my hands up right now.”
Jess then shared a second video explaining why she hadn’t used the flight credit.
She said: “They started offering a lot of money to anyone who would give up their seat, but it was flight credit, not cash.
“They told us that the flight credit was only valid for JetBlue flights within a year, and given that JetBlue doesn’t offer flights to that many destinations, spending $10,000 flight credit on JetBlue didn’t seem realistic to me.
“I’m on a spring break trip with 30 of my friends and nobody wanted to leave the group or cut short the trip.”
In the comments section, Jess revealed nine people eventually accepted the deal, one of whom negotiated the price of £11,500 flight credit.
The second video got 1 million views and some people still thought she should have taken the deal.
One person wrote “I would have given up Cancun so easily for a flight loan” and another wrote “I won’t lie I would have taken it anyway”.
But others thought she made the right choice.
One wrote, “No, not a good deal,” and another wrote, “Smart move, I wouldn’t take it either.”
