Woman rushes to hospital after hit and flees in Dublin as witnesses call

A WOMAN was admitted to hospital this evening after a hit and run in Dublin.
The collision happened around 7.40pm on Ballymun Road, Glasnevin, Dublin 9.
The pedestrian was taken to hospital for treatment of his injuries when Gardai closed the road for a technical check.
The road has been reopened since then and officers are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
An Garda Siochana spokesperson said: “Gardai is investigating a road traffic collision that occurred around 7:40pm on Ballymun Road, Glasnevin, Dublin 9, on Monday, January 31, 2022. .
“A female pedestrian was taken to hospital for treatment of her injuries. The vehicle involved could not remain at the scene.
“The road has been reopened after a technical inspection. Investigations are still ongoing.
“The Gardai in Ballymun is appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

“Any road user who may have camera footage (including dash cams) and is traveling in the Ballymun Road area at this time is asked to provide this footage for the Gardai investigation. .”
