Woman shares an easy hack to remove a stuck jar lid and it only takes a few seconds

There are few things more frustrating than trying with all your might to open the lid of a jar, only to have it cling firmly to it.

But one woman has come up with a brilliant trick to help – and it only takes seconds.

To open the lid of the jar, Sammy used a knife to puncture the cap several times to let the air out.

Sammy took to TikTok to share a videotapes her hack demonstrates the hack, explaining: “If you can’t get into a jar, get a knife.”

She then used a sharp knife to stab the lid of the jar, at which point air could be heard escaping.

“Did you hear that? It’s air being forced out of it,” she added.

Once the air has escaped, Sammy can open the lid easily without using force.

“Just in case you don’t know it has pressure, so once the pressure has dropped it opens more easily,” she captioned the video.

“Nooooo way!!!!! That’s amazing, thank you!!!” someone commented on the video.

Others have taken the opportunity to share their own tips for getting rid of stubborn jar lids.

Another added: “Or turn it upside down in hot water for 1 minute using a towel to open it because it will be hot, it works.”

“That’s a good idea,” Sammy replied to that comment.

Another wrote: “Easiest way is to turn the jar sideways and tap around the top on the counter, it always works, try it out”.

In other tricks, clean your drain properly with just two household ingredients.

Take advantage of the hidden space in your dishwasher to get more out of it.

And how to close your blinds properly so no one can see inside.
