One DIY-savvy woman has shared her simple trick for making £4 sliders from Asda look like a brand new pair of £300 Gucci shoes – using a piece of fabric and some glue
As we approach summer and the weather As we begin to get warmer, many of us will be pulling out summer wardrobes – including flip flops, sandals and mules to keep our feet cool.
And although sliders have been in fashion for a number of years, there’s a world of difference between showing off your high-fashion Gucci designs and sporting a cheap, out-of-fashion pair Main road that will probably fall apart before next summer.

Leanne who owns an online store called Belle’s Bonnie Boutiquebought plain black sliders for just £4 from Asdaand then simply used fabric and glue to mimic them the Gucci versions, which are almost 73 times more expensive.
The mom who posts on TikTok under the username @bellesbonniefabricused a Gucci fabric print that she sells through her shop for £2.50 and glued it to the strap of the sliders with Gorilla Glue to ensure it wouldn’t move as quickly.
She then wrote in her video: “I just turn 4 pounds of Asda sliders and 2.50 pounds of fabric into 300 pounds of sliders.
“It was so easy that anyone could do it.”
The Asda slippers and fabric cost Leanne a total of £6.50 – meaning that for the cost of one pair of Gucci sliders, worth £290, she could make 44 pairs of her dupes and still have spare change.
The video’s commentators were blown away by how good the end result looked, and many of them said they’ll be ordering the fabric from Leanne so they can try it out for themselves.
One person said: “I do it like this!”
While another added: “I love these.”
Leanne isn’t the only person to have saved money on shoes by making dupes, as we previously revealed, like a woman used paint to turn her Primark heels into fake Louboutins.
Jordan-Leigh Morris took an old pair of nude heels and applied a generous coat of Amazon’s Angelus Red Acrylic Leather Paint to the soles – transforming her cheap shoes into stylish red bottoms.
The woman admitted she’s “obsessed” with how good the red color has turned out, as someone pointed out her savvy skills have saved her at least £525.
