WWE 2K23 release date, new modes and cover star revealed

WWE 2K23 has been revealed, including an earlier release date than fans were expecting.

Some of the previous releases, like WWE 2K20, lost the good faith of the players, but WWE 2K23 seems to continue the good work of 2K22.

Not many big changes have been announced so far, but some highly requested features and new content enhancements should make for a popular release.

The biggest surprise was that it will be released in less than two months March 17, 2023, for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

If you buy the deluxe edition, you get early access for three days March 14, 2023.

There is a new addition to the complex yet chaotic WarGames match type.

Two teams of either three or four wrestlers fight over two rings surrounded by a steel cage.

Fans have been asking for this to be added to the game and it seems 2K has listened.

John Cena was voted Cover Star this year, with a showcase mode focusing on the highlights of his career.

Nine wrestlers have been confirmed to appear at launch, and we’ve got the full roster, as well as some predicted inclusions.

Cena was already the cover star for 2K15 and only appeared in one match in 2022, so fans may have been hoping for a more active star to grace this year’s cover.

Those who buy the Icon Edition also have retro versions of Cena, Randy Orton, Batista, and Brock Lesnar to play with.

Alongside Cena’s announcement, however, Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny was revealed as a pre-order bonus.

He competed in the Royal Rumble in 2022 and has done a lot of promotional work for WWE in recent years.

As for stacking modes, MyGM, MyFaction, and Universe modes see all the tweaks and enhancements.

MyGM will have more GMs, expanded match maps, more match types, and multiplayer support for up to four players.

MyFaction will have new weekly modes and themed map packs, while Universe mode will have an overhauled story system.

More details on all new modes will be announced shortly before release.
