UFC: Dana White praises Covington for fighting broken jaw

WWE Legend Kurt Angle admitted he wasn’t sure who Colby Covington was before giving the UFC star permission to use his iconic entrance music.

The UFC Star recently defeated bitter rival Jorge Masvidal to maintain his status as the leading welterweight contender behind champion Kamaru Usman. Covington requested that Angle’s infamous entrance music be used before his clash with Robbie Lawler, which has continued throughout his glittering career ever since.

However, the WWE sensation has admitted he gave the star his blessing to use the music after researching his UFC record in detail. “Well, he came up to me and asked if he could use it, and I said, ‘I don’t know,'” Angle said the schmo “Because I don’t know who you are,” and I did a little research on him and found out how damn good he is. I said, “Yeah, you can definitely use my music.” Colby Covington is as good as it gets.”

Angle’s infamous performance music was last used for Covington’s clash with Masvidal in Las Vegas, with the crowd singing along in a manner similar to the former wrestler’s performances during his time with WWE. Covington has previously admitted that he is a wrestling fan and this helped his music choices to go to the octagon.

Covington was defeated by welterweight champion Usman for a second time last year in their rematch which frozen him out of the cover photo. He later decided to settle scores with former teammate Masvidal after their previous friendship turned sour. After a crucial win to rekindle the possibility of a future trilogy with Usman, a lack of presentable challenges awaits at 170lb with No.2 challenger Gilbert Burns set to take on Khamzat Chimaev later this month.

covington has called for a mega fight with lightweight star Dustin Poirier who previously claimed he could move up to 170 pounds to compete against Nate Diaz. ‘Chaos’ has also admitted he could move up to middleweight and challenge current champion Israel Adesanya. He has claimed his wrestling skills are too much for the Nigerian star.
