The water works went live on Tuesday night (July 12) when the Wyn Starks auditioned Looking for American talent.
The Minnesota native, who lives in Nashville, shrugged before tugging at everyone’s hearts.
The Starks performed an original song, “Who Am I,” a story of his personal journey. It’s also a favorite song of his twin brother, he told the room. Sadly, his twin brother passed away. “It was really hard, and he was one of my biggest supporters,” he said, holding back tears.
The Starks lost their jobs in the hospitality industry due to the pandemic, so AGT stage “makes sense to me,” explained the Starks. “I am doing this for him. I just want to do this and honor him.”
The Starks siblings will be thrilled with a performance that finds a balance between emotion, song, technical skill, and pure power.
Judge Sofia Vergara was in tears, and she wasn’t the only one. “That was amazing,” she commented. “I’m so sorry for your loss. I know what that means, I’ve also lost my brother, and I can’t even imagine what it’s like to lose twins.”
Heidi Klum compliments his voice and that the song.
Simon Cowell was hunted. “Honestly, you’re great Wyn,” he commented. “That song was phenomenal. It really is like that. And I think it’s the perfect tribute to your brother. This could be a “life changing moment for you,” he adds.
If your eyes don’t get wet after performing, if you don’t have a lump in your throat, it’s best to check your pulse.
Of course, the Starks progressed with resounding voices of agreement.
