Ronaldo Araujo is conscious in hospital after being involved in a sickening headbutt with team-mate Gavi and being hospitalized in his side’s 3-1 win over Celta Vigo at the Camp Nou

Xavi Hernandez has confirmed Ronald Araujo is conscious in hospital after being taken off the pitch in an ambulance during Barcelona’s 3-1 win over Celta Vigo.
The 23-year-old was involved in a disgusting headbutt with team-mate Gavi. In the 62nd minute, the two Blaugrana players were fighting for the ball in their own half when they accidentally collided. While Gavi escaped without significant treatment, Araujo stayed on his feet. But as he ran towards his own goal, the 23-year-old suddenly fell.
An ambulance was quickly rushed onto the pitch as Araujo was taken to hospital for treatment. It was there that Xavi and co received the good news as the Barca coach told reporters after the game: “Araujo is conscious, out of danger. [The] The doctor tells us not to worry.”
A statement from the club previously said: “Ronald Araujo has suffered a concussion and has been taken to hospital to undergo further tests.”
The fans chanted “U-RU-GUAYO” from the stands after his substitution, the score being 3-1. As Gavi completed the 90 minutes, Barcelona prevailed thanks to a 30th-minute goal from Memphis Depay and two goals from ex-Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on either side of the half.
Celta’s talisman, Iago Aspas, pulled back for the visitors in the second half but their hopes of salvaging more than a brave Camp Nou defeat were dashed when defender Jeison Murillo was sent off for bringing down Depay had when he was the last man .
