Viewers of YELLOWJACKETS all shared a common complaint about the cannibalistic graphic scenes in the new thriller.
The psychological drama premiered on Showtime last November and ended last Sunday.
Yellowjackets tells the story of a group of New Jersey high school football players who are involved in a plane crash.
They were trapped in the wild for 19 months and the show discovered how long the group of girls had taken to survive.
The official trailer shows them resorting to cannibalism, but after the final episode of the 10-part series ended, fans were left scratching their heads.
Many people think that there is just not enough.
One person wrote: “I was so into Yellowjackets but how would you make a show about how girls can switch to cannibalism and not show any cannibalism for an entire season solve ??? Not even a snack on a few fingers???”
Another tweeted: “Are you telling me there’s NO PROBLEM in the yellow jacket?? why am I watching this show!”
“this is marketed as a cannibalistic teenage girl survival show and you don’t even get any cannibals in the first season! there are too many scenes made up like nothing! what! nineteen months in the wilderness and they haven’t even killed anyone yet,” a third pointed out.
An unimpressed Wednesday viewer said: “Strange I know but the Yellowjackets haven’t been cannibal enough this season for me.”
But others argue that it’s done for a reason.
One fan pointed out: “I don’t think there’s a rush on the cannibals aspect. Besides that, I think it saves the shock factor of who the first victim is and see how that affects that. How come girls perform such behavior.”
“I think one of my favorite things about the yellow vest is the constant talk of cannibalism even though the audience hasn’t seen any yet,” another said.
The seventh person wrote: “The Yellowjackets finale is over and I think there’s no cannibalism. Maybe some blood-drinking (consider revealing more supernatural/cult stuff in the play). ), but I think the writers are overplaying it and using it as A Red Herring….”
The main characters include Shauna, Taissa, Jackie, Natalie, Misty and their assistant coach Ben.
Yellowjackets, created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, is set both in 1996 when the plane crash happened and they are adults in 2021.
Fans will be pleased to hear that a second series was confirmed last month.
And it looks like we won’t have to wait long.
Showtime Networks President of Entertainment Gary Levine told Vulture: “We are working towards a launch by the end of 2022.”
