You cleaned your bathroom all wrong – five tips everyone should know

Keeping the bathroom clean can be a daunting task – but it doesn’t have to be.
Here are five expert-recommended cleaning tips and tricks everyone should know.
SWAP A RAG FOR A DUST
The toilet is often the center of attention in the bathroom, so it deserves special cleaning.
Lifestyle expert Jamie Michelle shared on her TikTok is exactly how she cleans her toilet in an attempt to make the whole process a little more efficient.
Her trick? Remove dust and other particles from the surface before picking up your regular cleaner.
“Clean your toilet before you come in with liquid cleaner,” she suggests as she mops her toilet with a Swiffer.
“This way, you’ll get all the hair and dust out before you start rubbing it around with a wet rag.”
She notes that while cleaning the toilet is never a fun chore, this hack makes it even more enjoyable for her.
PREVENTING BLACK MOLD WHEN BRINGING
There is a lot of moisture in and around toilets, making them the optimal location for black mold to grow.
However, a woman calling herself “Clean Snobs” online claims she knows how to stop it from growing once and for all with just three items: vinegar, duct tape, and a rag.
First, she says to turn off the water valve on the toilet and flush to get rid of all the water in the tub and its bowl.
Next, use a rag to dry the entire toilet.
Then, tape the inside edge of the toilet where the water enters the bowl.
“It will stick well as long as there is no water,” she notes.
“Cover all holes, make sure it’s nice and secure.”
Finally, she advises followers to pour an entire jar of distilled white vinegar into the toilet tank and flush it.
The vinegar then cleans up any running water in the toilet bowl before it gets into the bowl.
Tape prevents the vinegar from coming into contact with the bowl for longer cleaning.
Clean Snob recommends waiting a full 24 hours before letting the vinegar flush the entire toilet, but that may need to be changed if it’s the only toilet in your home.
URINE DREAM COMBINATION
Vinegar isn’t just ideal for disinfecting toilets – it can be used to help deodorize urine from any bathroom.
A mother disclosure Her housekeeper taught her that she could keep her bathroom smelling fresh with just white vinegar and distilled water.
She added that the trick is a lifesaver “if you have a man or a boy in your house.”
“Fill a spray bottle with one part vinegar, one part warm water,” she says.
“There is no other cleaner that can get rid of the smell of urine better – especially on the floor,” she says as she sprays the cleaner on and around the toilet.
MAKING YOUR FACE GLOW FOR CHEAP CHEAP
It is not necessary to use harsh chemicals to make your bathroom mirror shine like never before without toothpaste splashing and hard water stains on the mirror in the first place.
Cleaning specialist and owner of Clean up my space Melissa Maker says you only need two super-cheap items to get the job done: baking soda and a microfiber cloth.
She claims that baking soda is best for removing dirt or residue from mirror surfaces.
All you need to do is moisten the cloth, add about a teaspoon of baking soda to it, then wipe the surface in an “S” shape.
Then, wipe the mirror with a clean cloth to make it shine like new.
SEE WHERE YOU GIVE YOUR FEELING
People might not expect bath mats to be super dirty, but according to professional cleaner Bailey Carson in an interview with Insiders, bathroom rugs don’t just collect dirt – they also grow mold.
“After each shower, we step out onto the bath mat, letting it soak in water or excess soap that might drip,” he explains.
“While this helps keep our floors moisture-free, water accumulation when left untreated can lead to mold growth.”
Luckily, there’s an easy fix.
Fabric bath mats can be hand-rubbed or washed.
For plastics or rubbers that use suction cups, Carson suggests soaking them in a diluted bleach solution and then scrubbing them.
“Put the rug in a bathtub or large sink with suction cups facing up, wash in hydrogen peroxide or diluted bleach solution for a few hours, then scrub with a bristle brush,” he instructs. guide.
