You must read this: Garth Marenghi in the Insect Invasion Novel

These books are not recommendations. When time travel is complete (we’re almost done), I’ll go back 50 years and sue each of these authors for literary plagiarism, which ripped up my own insect invasion novel The Stealth -Hive Parallax, Locust Rex (episodes 1–10) and Stingpregnators, the quintessential parasitic wasp in my universe, to name but a few of the hundreds of insect novels I’ve written.

ur insect kingdom, this empire of six-legged demons (eight if arachnids), has long been the subject of horror writers. Herb Wells’ Spider Kingdom and Empire of the Antsnot to mention Leiningen versus ants by a writer I’ve never heard of (but been reported to call himself Carl Stephenson), assisted and abetted by Jeremias Gotthelf’s Black spider (a metaphorical novel about the plague that frankly needs more spiders) and by Richard Marsh Beetle (pictured with an Egyptian beetle). But when the atomic bomb experiments of the 20th century finally succeeded, it was this literary larva that gave birth to full-blown insect invasion novels like Keith Roberts’ The Furies (giant wasp), Thomas Page’s Plague Hephaestus (fire bugs) and John Wyndham’s Web (guess).

Perhaps the greatest, but least known (and frankly most blatant plagiarism of my next work) work is by Frank Herbert in 1973. Hellstrom’s Hive, a story in which an American police state is threatened by the sinister Dr. Hellstrom’s Project 490, a secret human ant community/army living underground. Frank is best known for Sand dunes book (which is possible to do with some species of ants, frankly) but here the emphasis is on ant-human association (bordering on erotic, for entomological spice seekers), and written as a ‘sequel’ to the 1971 spoof – shock movie doc Hellstrom Chroniclesan eco-thriller that deals with the greatest threat to humanity’s existence: the triumph of insects.

Thanks to this and my own prophetic work, bugs are no longer a threat to humanity. The insect kingdom, as a direct result of my literary efforts and endorsements of various kinds of pest control corporations, is now almost completely exterminated, albeit as a result of the transformation. catastrophic climate change caused me, as a shaman of society, to work unwanted overtime.

Hellstrom’s Hive depicts a terrifying prospect of an alternative society to humanity, where spiritual values and emotional empathy are combined with the benefits of coldness and the eventual survival of a swarm colony. insects (think beehives, bees and wasp fans). Some might say we’ve been there, my friend. Think. Has your brain been controlled by a wasp / ant / beetle / slug / locust / bedbug?

Yes, have it? Have it? Or have it? …
