IF you want to make it easier to go to the bathroom, you should sit with your feet on a stool.
YouTuber and educator Matthew Santoro explained the reason for this in a video on his YouTube channel, adding that it’s all about putting your colon in the optimal position.
“I went to the wrong place!” he started. “If you’re like most people, you absolutely sit on the toilet seat doing your business.
“But that position isn’t ideal. Our bodies are actually designed to make going in number two easier when squatting.
“If you think about it, it really makes sense.
“Before the invention of the toilet, that was how people walked, basically hugging pillows the way you would if you had to walk in the woods – like the bears.”
However, simply putting your feet on a low stool – to raise your knees – makes going to the bathroom a more comfortable experience.
“Believe it or not, placing your feet on a stool with your knees higher while walking will help position your large intestine properly,” he continues.
And as well as helping with movement, adopting a more natural stance “will help prevent colon disease and hemorrhoids.”
“So, stop stressing the pull-up and let gravity do the work for you,” he concludes.
Among those who commented on the video were already fans of the stool method, with one person writing: “I always leave a stool in the bathroom.
“Once you start going in this direction, you’ll never go back.”
Another added: “I pictured the hole about 20 years ago, when I was too lazy to move my son’s steps. Now, can’t do a 2nd without it!”
