Your Halo Infinite Multiplayer Rank will be recalculated and may be lower

343 Industries has announced that they will reset player rankings in Halo Infinite as part of a new update to ranked matchmaking. The mid-season rankings reset will likely knock most players down a notch to counterbalance a hitherto “too generous” system.

System explanation in a new post on Halo Waypointcommunity manager John Junyszek said, “Because we found that [Competitive Skill Ranking] The system has been so generous since launch, these changes are being rolled out to help bring things closer to where they should be. This stage leads to an inflation of entire ranks and as a result most players will be placed in the full lower tier (Diamond players will find themselves in Platinum, Platinum players will find themselves at Gold, etc) after the rating resets.”

He also noted that this is “just the beginning” and more updates will be in place in response to player feedback and live game data.
