Your iPhone has 10 Harry Potter spells that turn it into a magic wand

POTTER fans can bring the magic to their iPhone with a few special tricks.

Thanks to Siri and some simple hacks, you can make your device cast all sorts of spells you know from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

From Lumos to Silencio, here are 10 to try.

Some need to be set up in the iPhone Shortcuts app, but they’re pretty easy.

Probably one of the most famous Potter charms is Lumos, used by Harry and his friends to light up their wands when lurking through the corridors of Hogwarts at night.

Just like a wizard or witch, you too can light up your iPhone – or at least your iPhone’s flashlight.

Just say, “Hey Siri, Lumos.”

Lumos wouldn’t be complete without the ability to turn off your flashlight as well.

This is where Nox comes in.

Just say, “Hey Siri, Nox.”

Accio is used by magical people to summon objects to them.

Unfortunately, you can’t get items out of your room like Harry – that would be something – but you can use it to open apps.

Of course, it’s worth noting that you can ask Siri to open apps without saying Accio, so this is best for the hardcore Potter fans.

Just say “Hey Siri, Accio” and the name of the app.

Magic with the Shortcuts app

The following spells can only be cast using the Shortcuts app on iPhone.

Start each time by tapping the + icon in the top right, followed by Add Action.

Lumo’s maxima

Look for “Set Torch” and select it.

You’ll notice an arrow pointing right next to the words “Turn on the flashlight.”

Tap on it and set the brightness properly.

Finally, name it “Lumos Maxima” at the top and hit the play button at the bottom.

Now when you say “Hey Siri, Lumos Maxima,” the light turns on at its brightest level.

be silent

Silencio delivers what it promises – silence.

Look for “Set Focus” and tap “Off” so it changes to “On”.

Name it “Silencio” at the top and hit the play button at the bottom.

When you say “Hey Siri, Silencio,” it automatically switches to Do Not Disturb mode.

Muffliato is used in the wizarding world to create a muffle to keep others from hearing private conversations.

On the iPhone, you can do something similar by turning the volume all the way down.

Look for “adjust volume” and take the percentage down.

Name it “Muffliato” at the top and hit the play button at the bottom.

Saying “Hey Siri, Muffliato” turns the volume all the way down.

Sonorus is ideal when you want to crank the volume all the way up.

Do the same as Muffliato above, but this time turn up the volume and of course name it ‘Sonorus’.

Saying “Hey Siri, Sonorus” will boot it up.

If you want to moderate the volume a bit, use Quietus.

Repeat the same process but choose a medium volume instead, around 50 percent.

Saying “Hey Siri, Quietus” will work.

Homenum Revelio reveals who is in your presence.

If you use Find My Friends you can do something similar.

Just search for “Open URLs” and add it.

Set the URL to “findmyfriends://”

Then say, “Hey Siri, Homenum Revelio.”

Show me

Need help getting around?

Point Me is the spell to use – or in the case of the iPhone, the compass app.

Find the compass and rename it “Point Me”.

Then say, “Hey Siri, point at me.”
