Search for ANY photo

You can Find any photo in your camera roll in seconds if you know how.

It’s thanks to the iPhone search functionthat uses powerful computer image analysis to figure out what’s going on in your photos.

You can search specifically for terms such as “lake”, “dog” or “cheese”.

And just as if you were looking further Google Picturesyou can find relevant photos in your own role.

If you had one iPhone For a while, you probably have thousands—or even tens of thousands—of photos.

Therefore, searching through them manually can be an absolute nightmare.

Instead, just try searching for a keyword within the app to narrow it down.

Apple has integrated special machine learning into the Photos app to recognize scenes and objects.

You can even search for specific events, e.g. B. a concert you went to.

“Photos for iOS can use the time and location of your photos along with online event listings to find matching photos,” Apple explained.

“It is also possible to search for places.

So you can type in a place name like London to track photos of your trip to the British capital.

You can also use the search function to identify features in a photo.

For example, if you took a photo of a dog, Look Up can sometimes show the breed of the dog.

If Look Up is available, just tap the “i” icon at the bottom of the screen to view more information.

Hide your hidden photos

Your iPhone has two tricks Hide your photos — and it’s important to use both.

Maybe you’re trying to hide screenshots of a birthday present, photos of weight loss progress, or something more intimate.

In any case, remember that in addition to hiding photos, you can also hide the hidden folder of the iPhone itself.

This gives you double protection from nosy buddies.

“When you hide photos and videos, they move to the Hidden album so they don’t appear in your Library, other albums, or the Photos widget on your Home screen,” Apple explains.

“With iOS 14, you can disable the “Hidden” album so that the photos are hidden entirely.

“You can unhide photos and videos and turn the hidden album back on whenever you want.”

To hide photos, select an image and then tap the share button, which looks like an arrow rising out of a box.

Then select the option to hide the photo or video.

You can also select multiple photos and hide them all at once.

To unhide the image, just follow the same steps but select Unhide.

The hidden album is enabled by default and is located under the Albums tab in Photos – at the very bottom.

You can turn it off by going into Settings, tapping Photos, scrolling down and turning off Hidden Album.

Your hidden photos remain hidden but are not visible in the Photos app.

If you’re particularly paranoid, you can move the Photos app off your home screen.

However, the Photos app always stays installed on your device and is easily browseable.

translate foreign languages

Your iPhone can instantly translate any foreign language character.

It’s a lifesaver when trying to navigate a country whose language you don’t speak.

Perhaps you want to scan the menu of a French restaurant, a notice in a German museum, or the ingredients of a cocktail in Spain.

Take a photo and then find it in your Photos app.

Now hold your finger and drag your finger across the text.

Use this to Highlight the text just like in a document.

Now tap Translate in the pop-up menu that appears above the text.

The text will be automatically translated into English (or another language of your choice).
