With the right type, you can fast charge anything from the iPhone 8 and up.

According to Apple, you can charge the battery up to 50 percent in about 30 minutes.

But it only works that fast if you use a USB-C to Lightning cable and the right connector with it.

Which charger should I use to fast charge an iPhone?

Apple will stop shipping headphones and wall chargers with new iPhones starting in 2020.

But there is a USB-C to Lightning cable.

Lightning is the custom port used by Apple for iPhones (at least for now).

USB-C is a common connector system these days, which means you need a matching connector part.

USB-C is not to be confused with USB, the much older type.

USB is still found at the end of many charging cables – the bit that fits into the connector.

Apple sells the fast connector, which delivers 20W with a USB-C end, on its own website.

There is also a 35W one which costs quite a bit more – but keep in mind that even the very latest iPhones can currently only draw 29W, so check the maximum your device will allow to make sure you’re not overspending on a plug you don’t have can get full potential out.

You can choose any comparable USB-C power adapter as long as it supports USB Power Delivery (USB-PD).

The key takeaway detail is that standard USB charging isn’t fast.

And it’s worth noting that wireless charging isn’t as fast as USB-C either.

So if you want the fastest juice ever, go for a USB-C to Lightning cable with the right connector.
