FINDING what to watch on your Sky Q box just got a whole lot easier.
A TikTok TV enthusiast has revealed a handy trick for anyone who prefers to type in a search instead of using their voice.
Of course, voice search is best – when it understands what you’ve said – but it’s not for everyone.
For those who prefer things the traditional way, typing out the entire title can be a bit daunting.
But there is a quick workaround.
TikToker Magnrose showed thousands of followers how it’s done – and it’s a bit like texting on an old Nokia phone.
You’ll notice that each number represents a letter number on the remote, something we’ve all seen on phones in the past.
Well, it turns out these can also be used for fast typing on Sky Q.
So you can tap the number 2 once for A, twice for B and three times for C, etc.
“Now you know… like old Nokia phones,” she said.
In fact, there are many tricks with the Sky Q remote to make your phone dreams come true.
Another TikTok star recently realized that you can request a remote skip five minutes Use your voice and it does just that.
And if you ever lose your remote, there’s a really handy way you can keep track of it.
Make sure your house is quiet so you can hear the beep.
Then press the Q button on the front of your Sky Q box.
After a few seconds, the Sky Q Touch / Sky Q remote paired with Voice Control will beep.
This beep will only last for 30 seconds, so if you don’t find it within that time, you’ll need to restart the process.
