How to put Sky Q to sleep when not in use

During a cost-of-living crisis, it’s a good idea to check all your electronic devices and see if they’re wasting energy.

Both the Sky Q and Sky Q Mini have a handy standby option that activates when the box isn’t being used.

To set it up, go to the main page settings page and select settingsthen standby mode.

From there you can choose between Eco, active or none.

Eco, Sky’s recommended setting, goes into low-power mode between 2:30am and 5:45am.

But it won’t happen until all scheduled recordings are complete.

Active, on the other hand, only goes into standby after a period of inactivity.

None turns on any standby option at all, which consumes more power.

Bring back accidentally deleted shows

If you pressed the wrong button and accidentally deleted a TV show or movie, all is not lost.

There is a way to restore it.

All you have to do is press the Sky button on your remote and go Recordings Side.

Find from there Administerthen Deleted.

Now you will see everything you previously deleted and there is an option called Restore You can restore anything.

You can also use Delete irrevocably to remove everything permanently – although there is no going back.

See what’s taking up your storage space

It’s easy to get clogged up in your Sky Q box, especially when you need to record multiple series.

When you’re almost out of disk space, it can be difficult to tell who the culprit is.

But there’s a part on Sky Q that shows exactly what’s taking up the whole room, so you know where to trim.

Press the Sky button on the remote control and go to Administer.

Choose disk spaceand on this screen you can see what is taking up space.
