YouTube down after Instagram and Twitter crash on night of tech chaos as users report problem with Server 429

YOUTUBE is reportedly the latest app to suffer an outage today.

Users faced issues with the video platform just before 7pm ET, just hours after both Twitter and Instagram suffered outages.

down detector reports that as of 6:57 p.m., over 18,000 incidents have been reported.

That number has more than doubled to over 48,000 as of 7:12 p.m.

Users reportedly had an issue where the YouTube homepage would not load.

“There was a problem with the server [429],” is reportedly seen on the screen for some users of the app.

Those trying to use the platform on a desktop have reported seeing a blank screen.

Team YouTube tweeted just after 7:30 p.m., confirming the issue.

“Hi, we’ve seen reports that the YouTube home page is down for some of you…we’re investigating this, really sorry if you’re experiencing this…we’ll be following up on more soon, thanks for yours Patience,” the tweet said.

The number of users reporting outages began to decrease after 7:30 p.m.

Thousands of angry YouTube users have taken to Twitter to express their frustration at yet another app outage.

“What’s going on here? #YouTubeDOWN.. Over the past 2 hours YouTube, Twitter and Instagram have all been down intermittently,” one person tweeted.

“Anyone trying to update YouTube, Twitter and Instagram because they are down or not working properly,” wrote another.

Other users reported watching videos without any problems.

“I’m literally watching a stream on YouTube right now? I don’t know what twitter is about,” one wrote.

Twitter and Instagram also reported outages on Wednesday.
