Zenith tests upcoming core architecture upgrades on the PTR as an integral “minor update”

The future of zenith will depend on core architecture upgrades, according to the RamenVR team. For this purpose, the developers have released a new architecture update that can be tested on the public test area. The implementation of the new architecture will allow for more interactive game features in the future.

zenith has pushed their next minor update onto the PTR, with a tentative release for live play on April 25thth May. In the latest update, Patch 23728, players probably won’t notice too many new features, but according to the patch notes on the official blog, this update is of paramount importance for the future of zenith.

In this update, we’ve made much-needed core architecture upgrades to Zenith’s backend system. A strong and robust backend architecture is crucial for a real-time connected experience like Zenith. The upgrades will allow us to implement more of the interactive gameplay features we’ve all dreamed of, as well as improve gameplay and network performance over time. Overall, this will improve our behind-the-scenes work and our “quality of life” as developers, allowing us to develop the game faster as well.

To make testing easier, RamenVR has also implemented an advanced character copy feature, allowing new users to access the PTR to copy their live game characters and not have to use staging characters or brand new characters during testing . There were also a few minor updates and bug fixes for the game. One noticeable change will be a new limit for godstones. Players are now limited to 30 godstones per ability, but the team also added a “clear low level godstones” option to ensure players can clear all low level godstones quickly and easily.

Zenith was released in January this year and is available on SteamVR, Oculus and Playstation VR. Currently, the game’s daily active player base on Steam has declined significantly, with only around 70 players joining the game each day. This is less than their all-time high of just over 4000 players at launch. While these numbers may sound daunting, zenith is available on multiple platforms and hopefully its continued development will generate more interest in the game as it develops.
