ZipCharge announces the GoHub to revolutionize EV charging infrastructure

ZipCharge announces the GoHub, set to revolutionize EV charging infrastructure for everyone.

First portable EV charger for shared, public use

ZipCharge today (Earth Day) unveiled the GoHub, the world’s first portable EV charging infrastructure for shared, public use. A revolution in the provision of public charging stations, the GoHub offers a community-based solution that can be installed anywhere, at a much lower cost and at a much faster speed, while allowing any parking space to be used as a charging station. The ability to rapidly roll out EV charging infrastructure is critical so national and local governments can more quickly deploy it where it is most needed to support the masses Introduction of electric vehicles. EV owners now have the choice of buying the Go outright, by subscription, or renting it through the GoHub.

The GoHub houses multiple ZipCharge Go EV power banks to meet the need for convenient, flexible, and cost-effective power. It’s a secure way to store, charge and provide access to the ZipCharge Go, giving everyone access to a portable power bank at the lowest cost. Modular and flexible in size, the GoHub is suitable for a variety of locations including on the street, in parking garages, in the workplace and in private settings.

ZipCharge Co-Founder, Jonathan Carrier: “We intend to create the world’s first vertically integrated ‘Energy Point Operator’ (EPO) that aims to serve hundreds of millions of people around the world so everyone has access to convenient and affordable energy. ZipCharge Go and GoHub enable clean energy to be stored, which can then be distributed for a variety of uses, from charging an electric vehicle to powering appliances.

The ZipCharge Go

Designed to the same standards as automotive electronics systems, the lightweight ZipCharge Go power bank is the size of a compact trolley case that can be charged in a GoHub, at home or elsewhere with a standard household plug at a lower cost per kWh of electricity compared to public charging on the street. Using the retractable handle, users then wheel it to where they parked their electric vehicle and plug it into the charging port. The connector locks the charging cable and secures the charger to the vehicle. ZipCharge Go offers a range of up to 32 km* (20 miles), giving it enough range to cover the average daily commute (UK/EU) in just over 30 minutes and then packs away neatly in the trunk or at home. ZipCharge Go can be used like a regular fixed charging station in all normal weather conditions. ZipCharge announces the GoHub to revolutionize EV charging infrastructure
