Zoe Ball has apologized for withdrawing from her BBC Radio 2 show this morning after thanking listeners for their support following her unexpected absence earlier.
The 51-year-old radio presenter hosts her own breakfast show on weekdays and was due to resume her presenting duties for the first episode of the new week at 6.30am this morning.
However, it turned out she was late due to a flat tire and trip reporter Richie Anderson covered until she took the reins again at around 6.50am.
She teased that her deputy would be disappointed at no longer being able to host the show, although he later gave her that opportunity when she disappeared without warning.

Zoe has since apologized for her absence in a post on Twitter, in which the Strictly Come Dancing alum opened up about why she didn’t make it through her radio show.
She wrote: “Sorry about that morning gang, Tire walked on his way to work. I was so keen not to miss the show that I rushed in and didn’t quite realize the effect it was having on me.”
